Objective: To design a full-page advertisement for inclusion in Fanfare, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s seasonal publication. The goal was to create a visually striking and brand-aligned ad that promoted a key performance or initiative while fitting seamlessly within the editorial context of the magazine.
Role: I led the ad's design from concept through to final print delivery. Working closely with the CSO’s marketing and editorial teams, I ensured the layout adhered to publication specs and upheld the organization’s visual identity. The design emphasized hierarchy, clarity and a balance between imagery and message, crafted to catch attention while feeling integrated within the broader publication.
Results
• Delivered on-brand ad that aligned with the Fanfare magazine’s design system
• Helped promote a featured event with increased visibility among CSO subscribers
• Received positive feedback from internal stakeholders for its visual clarity and elegance
• Completed on time for inclusion in the 24/25 season’s first issue
Take Away: This project highlighted the nuances of designing within editorial environments; where ad content must be both bold and contextually harmonious. It also underscored the value of consistent brand execution, even in single-page placements.
