Client: Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO)
Project: Custom Logo Design for Donor Recognition
Type: Brand Identity / Visual Design
Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator, Sketching & Photoshop
Objective: To create a timeless, elegant logo that honors a major donor’s contribution to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The logo needed to reflect the CSO’s mission and values while being versatile enough for use across both print and digital platforms; from event materials to recognition signage.
Role: I led the project from concept to final delivery, beginning with hand-drawn explorations that captured the emotional tone of the gift and the brand. Working closely with CSO's marketing and executive teams, I refined the chosen concept and produced:
• Multiple logo formats (horizontal, vertical, simplified)
• Color variations for use in light/dark backgrounds, print and digital environments
• Final vector files with complete brand usage guidelines
• Coordination with internal and external teams for rollout
Results:
• Delivered a refined, emotionally resonant logo that balanced tradition with a fresh, modern edge
• The final design enhanced donor recognition efforts and was embraced across CSO materials
Accolade: The donor was so moved by the final logo that we gifted them the original hand-drawn artwork, underscoring the design’s lasting impact and emotional significance
Take Away: This project underscored the power of thoughtful, human-centered design, particularly in philanthropic spaces where emotional connection matters. It reinforced how strong visual identity can serve as both a tool for recognition and a gesture of gratitude that leaves a lasting impression.
