Objective: Design a Valentine’s Day postcard to promote in-store shopping at Nest Hyde Park; a boutique known for its curated gifts and fashion. The card needed to serve as a playful “love note” from the shop to its customers, encouraging them to treat themselves or someone they love. It was important to strike a balance between heartfelt and cheeky, staying true to the store’s vibrant yet refined brand voice.
Role: I led the design process from concept through final production, collaborating directly with the shop owner to ensure alignment with the store’s personality and customer base. The final piece was a 4x6 double-sided postcard featuring bold type, clean lines, and a funky, modern tone that reflected Nest’s visual identity. I handled illustration, layout, copy refinement, and print prep.
Results:
• Successfully distributed in-store and via direct mail
• Drove increased foot traffic during Valentine’s shopping week
• Reinforced customer connection through playful, branded messaging
• Set a precedent for future holiday promotions in both tone and design structure

Take Away: This project showed the power of small-format design to create a memorable customer touchpoint. Collaborating closely with the shop owner helped shape a message that felt both personal and brand-authentic. It also demonstrated how print can still feel fresh and meaningful in a digital-first world; especially when paired with a strong visual voice.
It’s one of my favorite designs.
